Mikel Arteta will continue to work as Arsenal coach. Despite a terrible start with three losses in the first three weeks of the championship, 9 goals conceded and no goals scored, the 39-year-old Spanish coach will continue to work on the bench of the “gunners”.
The news was given by the English media, which quoted sources close to Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke, who seems to have decided to give the Spanish coach another chance, despite the growing dissatisfaction with him and the requests of the fans to dismiss him.
The injuries, the delayed market and the difficult draw in the second and third week, have been the circumstances that have somewhat eased Arteta and have convinced Kroenke to entrust the management of the team again, but of course this time with an ultimatum, to returned immediately to positive results.
Now the Spanish coach will have a few days to work with the team, which will return to the field only on September 11 to face Norwich, while the calendar in September is relatively easy, as it reserves only one complicated match, derby against Tottenham on 26 September.
However, the mission to return the “gunners” to the results does not seem at all easy for Arteta, who, in addition to many new players in the staff, has not yet clarified his ideas, as from game to game has often changed the scheme, creating confusion in experienced players.
