Salernitana star Franck Ribery reveals that Jose Mourinho’s Barcelona, ??Juventus and Real Madrid wanted to sign him in the past, but he has not regretted given what he achieved at Bayern Munich.
The French star spent 12 seasons in Germany, winning 23 trophies, including a Champions League and nine Bundesliga titles.
“Football is my life and I am still happy on the field today. “I feel good and I can share my experience with the youngest players,” Ribery initially told Tuttosport.
“I have made many sacrifices during my career. “Whether the goal is to survive in the Champions League or Serie A, you have to be hungry to win and have passion.”
Salernitana visits Mourinho’s Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday. What is his relationship with Special One?
“It will be good to meet Mourinho. He has never been my coach, but we have always been on good terms. We have met many times in the Champions League and we have always talked after matches. He wanted me at Real Madrid in the past, but Bayern did not let me go.”
“Barcelona and Juventus also called me, but I have no regrets, I am proud to have spent 12 years at a giant club like Bayern Munich, where I won everything and wrote important pages in the history of the club,” concluded the Frenchman.
Ribery has yet to find the net this season in Serie A and has provided two assists in 18 appearances in the Italian championship.
This is his third season in Italy after a two-year period at Fiorentina and he now has a contract with the club from Stadio Arechi until the summer.
