Zaniolo risks punishment after the gestures he made to Lazio fans

According to reports in Italy, Nicolò Zaniolo could face the consequences for his offensive gestures to Lazio fans and is expected to either receive a fine or be suspended.

There was tension at the Stadio Olimpico when the Roma star got involved in the second half of the Derby Della Capitale.

A group of Lazio fans offended Zaniolo, who did not restrain himself and responded with some offensive gestures.

According to Calciomercatos, Zaniolo’s behavior has been reported by federal prosecutor inspectors participating in the game, meaning the Italian midfielder could face the consequences for his action.

It remains to be seen whether the FIGC Prosecutor will decide to take action against Zaniolo, but the 22-year-old could either be fined or suspended for one or more matches.

The former Fiorentina and Inter star is back on the field this season after recovering from a knee injury, the second in his career.

He has scored one goal and provided one assist in seven appearances in all competitions.
