With just one week left until the start of the 2020 European Championship, England coach Gary Southagate is unable to find peace, as two other injuries have troubled his mind in recent hours.
It is about the Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson, who continues to have a problem in the thigh and it is certain that he will not be able to play in the first challenge in the group, against Croatia at “Wembley”.
Southgate took him to the final list of 26 players in the hope that the player will recover for most of the competition, but the situation is not at all optimistic and currently the possibility of replacement before the start of the European is not ruled out.
The same discussion applies to defender Harry Maguire, who has been injured since May and recent examinations have revealed other problems, which could leave him out for a few weeks.
In these conditions, Southgate and his colleagues are considering all possibilities to find the names with which they can replace these two headlines before the start of the European, in order to have a more complete group.
Recall that just two days ago lost the European Championship and Liverpool defender, Trenk Alexander-Arnold, who suffered an injury in the friendly against Austria and returned home, to start recovery.
