An agreement is reached, Sarri takes Hysaj to Lazio

Elseid Hysaj will be the first gift that the leaders of Lazio will give to his new coach, Maurizio Sarri. The Albanian defender will arrive in Formello for free, as his contract with Napoli expires on June 30.

Hysaj will sign a five-year contract for 1.7 million euros per season, plus bonuses. His officialization in the white and blue team is expected to take place at the weekend.

Hysaj will keep the role of left defender in Sarri’s starting lineup and if necessary he can also contribute on the right. Hysaj will fill the gap created in the defense of Lazio in a crucial role for Sarri’s game.

The 27-year-old is set to play next season on both sides of the defense. In fact, with the departure of Senad Lulic from July 1, the only one in the team capable of playing those roles would be Marusic and Lazzarri, but the former SPAL footballer could leave the capital with an offer of around 20 million euros.

Born in 1994, Hysaj is a name much desired by Sarri, who has had him under his command since the time when the two were part of Empoli and then Naples. With Sarri as coach, Hysaj has gone down to the field in 223 matches, being a fixed starter.
