A year ago, the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Willian from Chelsea to Arsenal was met with much fanfare.

However, the 33-year-old’s impact with the “gunners” was not what was expected, staying mostly on the bench.

Today, the British media confirm that Willian may leave London within August, to return to his homeland. An offer has come for Willian from the Brazilian team of Corinthia, where the midfielder has started his career.

Contacts between the two clubs have long since begun and it is expected that the issue will be resolved within a few days.

The transfer would save Arsenal millions of euros for a player who has not played much in the league.
