Atletico Madrid continues to follow Lautaro, Inter consider Thuram

Inter are reviving interest in French striker Marcus Thuram, while Atletico Madrid continues to monitor Lautaro Martinez.

The Argentine striker has yet to score in 2022, but Los Colchoneros are still following him closely.

According to the newspaper Tuttosport, an Atletico Madrid scout was at the Giuseppe Meazza on Tuesday to watch him during the derby with Milan, where Lautaro started the game but left in the second half.

With the future of Alexis Sanchez also in doubt, the Nerazzurri could reorganize their attack ward over the summer and Thuram is one of their targets for the 2022/23 season.

The Serie A giants had held talks in the summer with the son of legend Lillian Thuram, but the French striker suffered a knee injury in August, so the deal fell through and Inter signed in his place with Joaquin Correa.

Thuram has a 45 million euro clause included in his contract, but Inter does not want to offer that much, given the striker’s knee problems.

According to the report of the Italian newspaper, the Nerazzurri had offered 20 million euros plus 5 million euros in bonuses in 2021.

Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca remains Inter’s main target over the summer, but his signing would not rule out the arrival of Thuram.

Inter strikers have struggled in recent weeks, with Simone Inzaghi’s boys unable to find the net in the last four games.
