Ansu Fati underwent another operation, this time with Dr. Jose Carlos Noronha who performed the operation on the young Barcelona player in the Portuguese city of Porto.
The club confirmed on Wednesday after midnight that the 18-year-old had traveled to Portugal to be examined by a doctor, and later reported that he had undergone surgery.
“After traveling to Porto, Ansu Fati underwent a control arthroscopy on his left knee by Dr. Jose Carlos Noronha, under the supervision of the Club Medical Services. The player will continue with his recovery process”, it is said in the announcement of the Catalan club.
Ansu Fati has been out of action since being injured against Real Betis in November, and his recovery has not gone according to plan.
He himself has been negatively affected by the complications in his return and he is desperate to play football again.
Early predictions were that the player would miss the action four months ago, but he has now been out of action for six months already and will not return until the start of the 2021/22 season.
The 18-year-old has played 43 games with the first team and scored 13 goals, as well as secured three assists.
