Barcelona have not yet sent an offer to Messi to renew the agreement

Barcelona has not yet sent an offer to its captain, Lionel Messi, for the renewal of the agreement, which expires at the end of this month.

Lionel Messi is in training with Argentina’s national team now, for the World Cup qualifiers and from next week for the America’s Cup tournament.

Messi and Barca executives have talked about renewing the contract, but the Argentine has not yet accepted any offer that he can consider and then sign, according to MARCA.

After 20 days exactly, Messi will be a free agent.

President Joan Laporta is clear about the offer he wants to make to Messi, he has been like that for several weeks now. He wants to offer him a two-year contract with an annual salary of 50 million euros, half less than his current salary.

But Messi would have another offer after two years, a 10-year deal to take on the role of the club’s ambassador, from which he would earn 10 million euros a year.

The president has explained these conditions to Messi’s father and manager, Jorge, but nothing has been put on paper.
