Barcelona “saves” 20 million euros for Coutinho

A little breath for Barcelona and its executives in terms of the financial aspect of the club.

Philippe Coutinho’s 100 appearances have not cost the Blaugrana club extra cash.

There has been a lot of talk recently about a famous bonus in the agreement between Barca and Liverpool at the time of the Brazilian’s transfer to the Camp Nou of a full 20 million euros in case Coutinho would reach the number of 100 appearances with the Blaugrana club jersey.

But according to quotes from Barcelona executives for the Catalan newspaper MundoDeportivo, this clause of 20 million euros does not exist and Barca can stay calm as the club’s coffers will not be burdened any more.

Coutinho in recent challenges has taken many minutes from coach Ronald Koeman and has currently reached the quota of 99 appearances with Barcelona.

Philippe Coutinho’s card has cost Barcelona coffers 140 million euros so far.
