Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has reacted to his team’s critics, insisting that they are exaggerating their negative assessments of the Catalan giants.
Barcelona is going through a major crisis inside and outside the club, as in addition to financial troubles, the team’s results on the field leave much to be desired.
Barca lost the first two group matches in the Champions League for the first time in the history of the club, after being convincingly defeated by Barcelona and Benfica with the same result 3: 0.
The Dutch midfielder admits that the results are bad, but insists that the season is not over for Barca from the beginning.
“They are exaggerating it, we are not boring. The results are bad, no one can deny that,” said De Jong.
“I am disappointed but not devastated,” he insisted.
“People are exaggerating when they say the season is over for us. We do not have much less points than Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid and there are still many games to play,” he added.
