Barcelona’s hopes for Haaland’s transfer are dashed

Borussia Dortmund did well enough to secure a place in the Champions League, and with that qualification it is likely that Erling Haaland will be further inaccessible to Barcelona.

However, Edin Terzic has done wonders in his role as interim coach by winning the DFB-Pokal and putting together a range of results that has secured him a place in the top four.

Haaland was not ready to play in the Europa League next term, but that is no longer the case with Dortmund having qualified for the Champions League.

Moreover, the added fiscal benefits of securing a touring venue are likely to ensure that Dortmund is not forced to sell any of their most valuable assets, although this does not mean that sales will not occur.

In the first hours after securing Champions League qualification, club general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke spoke of his belief that Haaland would now stay with the German giants.

“I am confident that Haaland will stay,” Watzke confirmed.
