Bayern are working on the transfer of the Chelsea striker

Bayern Munich are working to sign Chelsea striker Timo Werner in January.

The Bundesliga giant had expressed great interest in the German striker even in the summer, but had not managed to convince him to leave London.

According to Football Insider, Bayern will try to lure Werner to join the club in January.

Bayern are looking for a center-forward who can cover and compete with Robert Lewandowski, who turned 33 last month.

The 24-year-old has a long-term contract with Chelsea, but lost his place in the first team of coach Thomas Tuchel after the arrival of Romelu Lukaku from Inter.

Werner has played just nine minutes in three Premier League games this season.
