Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has admitted that he dreams of winning the most prestigious individual award, the Golden Ball.
It has been almost impossible for other footballers in Europe to win the most coveted award for players in recent decades, as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have completely prevailed.
PSG star Messi has won it six times, while Ronaldo of Manchester United five times, in the last 15 years.
Only Luka Modric has managed to win it over them in the last decade and Benzema hopes to one day repeat the success of his Real Madrid team-mate.
“I am not sleep deprived because of the Golden Ball, although it is a dream for every player,” Benzema told a news conference.
“What I want is to help the team. Every player wants to win it and I want to,” he underlined.
