De Bruyne and Hazard injured against Portugal, Belgium coach talks about their condition

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Kevin De Bruyne suffered an ankle injury, while Eden Hazard injured his muscle in the 1-0 win over Portugal on Sunday night.

Thorgan Hazard scored the only and triumphant goal for Belgium at the Estadio de La Cartuja, to send Roberto Martinez’s team to the quarterfinals.

Belgium and Italy will face on July 2 in Munich, in the second quarterfinal of this European.

But this triumph cost the Belgian red devils, as two of their best footballers left the field limping.

De Bruyne could not stand more than three minutes in the second half, before being replaced, after a harsh intervention that was made against him. Hazard pulled the muscle towards the end of the match and demanded a replacement.

Martinez could not guarantee whether the pair will miss or play in Friday’s game in Munich, although Hazard’s injury looks more serious than De Bruyne’s.

“It’s too early to say how they are. Kevin has a problem with the knot, he could not play in the second half. Eden has muscle problems, but we have to wait for the diagnoses.” said Martinez.

Belgium meet Italy on Friday in Munich, so De Bruyne and Hazard have five days to recover.
