France national team coach Didier Deschamps has been pleased with his team’s victory over Germany in Group F at Euro 2020.
France won their first match in the Group with a minimum score of 1-0, and this came thanks to an own goal by Mats Hummels (20 ‘).
However, despite the minimal victory, the coach of France, Deschamps has remained satisfied with the appearance and commitment.
“We played a great game against a very good opponent,” Deschamps said after the game.
“I knew my players would be ready and we were ready for battle.”
“We were not far from scoring the second goal that would make us safe, but we did not suffer so much in the second half.”
“It was a strong match with quality and talent,” concluded the French coach.
