Domenico Berardi, Milan’s main target for the summer

Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi is said to be Milan’s main target for the summer transfer window.

The Italian has already reached double figures for goals and assists this season and has attracted interest from many clubs, including the Reds and Napoli.

According to the newspaper Tuttosport, Berardi is Milan’s main target for the summer, when Paolo Maldini will try to bring in a new right-wing striker. Berardi will turn 28 in August and his contract with Sassuolo expires in June 2024.

He looked on the verge of leaving Fiorentina last summer, but the Tuscan club’s offer was not high enough for Sassuolo. Berardi already looks ready for a new step in his career.

“Berardi is one of the best Italian footballers at the moment, probably the best,” Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali initially said in February.

“He may have ambitions to join a big club and we will make our assessments with him as soon as we receive an offer.”

“Fiorentina made their move, but it was not enough and maybe Berardi needs a bigger club,” concluded Carnevali.

According to the newspaper report, Sassuolo will ask for a sale of around 30-35 million euros during the summer.

It remains to be seen how much Milan will offer for the Italian as the Red and Blacks also need a new central midfielder, a center-back and another center-forward to strengthen Stefano Pioli’s squad for the new season.
