Samuel Eto’o and Lionel Messi formed a dynamic partnership while the Argentine was growing up in Barcelona.

The former Cameroon striker is back in time emphasizing that at the time he was the biggest name on the football scene.

Asked about Ansu Fati’s talent, Eto’o made an interesting comment.

“No, he played with me, it’s different,” Eto’o joked when asked by a reporter about the time he played with Messi in Barcelona.

“Messi played with me, I did not play with Messi. In my time, Messi played with me. It is totally different,” he said.

Eto’o, now 40-years-old, moved to Inter in 2009 after a five-year adventure with Barcelona to spend two seasons.

He played active football until the 2018/19 season.
