Everton dismiss Benitez after losing to Norwich

The Toffees have made this decision to change after losing more than 10 of them this season.

Everton sacked coach Rafael Benitez after a 2-1 loss to Norwich last Saturday.

Benitez had replaced Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park in June, despite having previously coached Liverpool from 2004-2010, which are Everton’s biggest rivals.

The Toffees started the 2021/22 season very strongly under the Spaniard but quickly lost form after losing several key players due to injuries, and the loss to Norwich seemed to be the last tolerance the board would tolerate of this team.

The club has confirmed Benitez’s departure through an official statement.

“Everton Football Club confirms that it has parted ways with team manager Rafael Benítez,” the club said in a statement.

“Benitez, who joined Everton in June 2021, will leave the club immediately. During this time, his permanent replacement will be found “.
