Pep Guardiola has enjoyed last night Manchester City victory over Brighton.
“Citizens” triumphed with a result of 3: 0 thanks to the goals of Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva.
On this occasion, the current English champions regained the primacy in the Premier League with only one point more than Liverpool, six games without ending the season.
The Spanish coach knows how his team can finally celebrate in the English championship.
“Today we mathematically secured the qualification for next season in the Champions League. One might say it’s normal, but no, it’s not normal. Just look at how strong the teams are in the fight for the top four positions. We have already qualified and that is good,” the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach told BBC Sport.
“As for the title, we are not crazy: if we lose two points along the way, just a draw is enough and Liverpool can be declared champions. If we win them all, we will be champions. The players know this and we will try. Hopefully the fatigue doesn’t weigh too much, but we know exactly what tough matches await us. We will try to play like today and win all the matches. If this happens, we will celebrate, if it does not happen, we will compliment Liverpool.”
City had left Liverpool quite a few months ago, but the “Citizens” had a drop in form and mistakes along the way, while the “Reds” were unstoppable and approached the leader in just one point.
So, the last six rounds in the Premier League will be quite “hot” and exciting.
