Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has recently been linked with a transfer to Manchester City and this could materialize after English club coach Pep Guardiola praised the Portuguese in the past.
The Portuguese striker has only one year left on his contract in Turin, but has been linked with a move away this summer after the Serie A club failed to defend their title.
Manchester United are linked with the Portuguese representative, but they are a few days away from confirming the signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for 85 million euros and are now targeted by a central defender.
This has made Ronaldo a surprise target for English champions City, while his future has not yet been decided.
Guardiola’s City could certainly afford Ronaldo, and in the past, the Etihad club coach has spoken positively about the idea of ??having a player as the five-time Golden Ball winner on his squad.
“We do not have a player who can win a match alone. “We do not have a Cristiano Ronaldo, a Lionel Messi or a Neymar”, Guardiola had initially declared.
“We do not have this kind of players who can win games themselves. I told the players many times, you have to play as a team.”
“I will be honest. I would love to have a player who scores every single match by four goals. I would like that,” concluded the City coach.
Ronaldo has not yet addressed the speculation surrounding this summer and is likely to stay at Juventus for at least a season before deciding on his future.
