Hazard: I want to repay Real Madrid for the money invested in me

The Belgian striker is committed to succeeding in his career with Los Blancos

Eden Hazard has said that Real Madrid has still not seen his best, with the former Chelsea striker close to returning to full physical condition where he has confirmed that he wants to repay Los Merengues the money they paid for his services.

Injuries have made Hazard’s career in the Spanish capital difficult, with the striker having barely played five games in a row since signing for the club.

Now, since the pre-season matches it has been said that the Belgian has worked hard to get back in physical shape and wants to give more to the team, the less that Real Madrid failed to sign Kylian Mbappe.

“Real Madrid has spent a lot of money on me, I want to repay them,” Hazard said in an interview with HLN.

“I signed for five years, the first two were not good but I have three more to show that the money invested was right. I hope to work, I hope to wake up one morning and show others that I am at my maximum in training, but I look forward to the moment to show what I know how to do.”

When asked about the perception that he has always been hurt, the former Lille star has been quick to defend himself.

“People think I’m always hurt, that’s the reality, but if you look at my career there are no players who have played more games than me in those 10 years,” Hazard added.

“I do what I have to do, I work every day on the physical side and we have done a good job since the beginning of the season. At the moment it is going well, but I am not 100 percent good at the moment.”

Hazard has begged fans to understand that his absence has to do with injuries.

“Sometimes, it’s hard when you are injured, you want to play and try to convince the club that you are ready, but then you have pain and you stay out,” Hazard continued.

“We have a lot of bad moments, maybe they can hardly be understood. But do everything that needs to be done and in the end again nothing helps.”
