“I hope to be in Barcelona for a few years”

Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo has said he is ‘very happy’ in Catalonia after a good first season appearance under Ronald Koeman.

Ronald Araujo has underlined his desire to stay in Barcelona for a long time, while admitting that he wants to be in this team for “many years”. Araujo signed with Barca coming from Uruguayan team Boston River for 2 million euros in 2018 and made his debut in this team a year later in the 4-0 victory against Sevilla in La Liga.

The 22-year-old has been in the first team since Ronald Koeman was named coach last summer and has had a good 2020/21 season, but he is being offered the end of his contract. Araujo has said he is ready to commit to the future for a long time with Blaugrana, but said it is a bit unclear because there are still no negotiations for a new contract.

“I am very happy in Barcelona, ??I hope to be here for many years and give the best for the team every season,” said Araujo while training with Uruguay for the national team. I do not know much about the renewal, the representatives deal with this. “I am calm, but I hope to continue with this club as long as possible.”
