According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Inter had contacted Carlo Ancelotti to replace Antonio Conte, but he could not “betray” Milan.

The coach has been at Everton since December 2020, a few days after he was sacked by Napoli. Now, the Italian coach has signed a new contract with Real Madrid.

However, there has been another offer on the table. AS says Inter have asked Ancelotti to replace Conte.

That would mean joining Milan rivals, for whom he played as a player and coached.

“Who I am today, I owe to the Milan fans. I can not betray them” – was his response to the offer of the Italian champion.
