Inter have confirmed that the club had a loss of 245.6 million euros in the 2020-21 season, the highest deficit ever in the history of Serie A.
Their losses doubled compared to the 2019-20 edition, where the club had a loss of 102.4 million euros. Due to the pandemic and the lack of fans in stadiums, revenues also fell from 373.3 million euros to 364.7 million euros.
However, this shows only half of the story, because during the last two financial years, Inter has lost over 900 million euros.
Inter’s coffers will be strengthened for fiscal year 2021-22 by sales of Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi, but Suning continues to look for new investors after borrowing and issuing bonds to raise funds.
The losses of 245 million euros represent the highest in history for a Serie A club, surpassing the losses of 209.9 million euros published by Juventus in the 2020-21 season.
