Klopp: Jota and Firmino will not play against Leeds

Both Liverpool strikers are injured and could miss the Liverpool Cup final against Chelsea.

Liverpool strikers Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino may not play in the English League Cup final against Chelsea on Sunday.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said the two players “have no chance” of playing against Leeds in the Premier League on Wednesday, with Jota recovering from a knee injury and Firmino having a muscle problem.

“Klopp has not ruled out the possibility of them playing in the final at Wembley Stadium in London, but he has not been very optimistic.”

“It would be easy to say ‘no’ now, but we’ll see,” Klopp said.

“They were not at the training center so this is not a good sign. We have to look at what we do with the boys in the coming days and finally make a decision.”
