Ronald Koeman has insisted he has the support of Barcelona and the players, after another embarrassing 3-0 loss to Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Benfica defeated Barca 3-0 on Wednesday, causing them the second defeat in a row with the same result, after Bayern Munich had defeated them in the opening match of the group weeks ago.
This is the first time the Catalans have lost their first two matches in the Champions League.
The pressure on the Dutch coach is increasing excessively, as Barca has won only one of the last five games.
Midfielders Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets defended Koeman even after the embarrassment in Lisbon and he believes he has the support of the club as well.
“I feel supported by the players and their attitude,” Koeman said after the game.
“I can only talk about the work I do with the team. I do not know about the others but I know about the club”, he added.
It was recently reported that the relationship between Koeman and Joan Laporta has deteriorated and results like that of Wednesday will not help improve them.
