Koeman: I did not talk about my contract until Laporta spoke to the media

Ronald Koeman has complained about media leaks related to his new contract.

Ronald Koeman has expressed his concern with the way in which information about the extension of his contract has been spread by the president of Barcelona Joan Laporta in the media in recent days.

According to reports, Barcelona would offer a new contract to the Dutch coach in case he meets certain conditions set by the club, during the second season with Blaugrana.

“The thing that worries me in this case is that they did not show the right support for the coach.” Koeman told Algemeen Dagblad.

“Two weeks ago, we talked to Barcelona about the new contract. From all that conversation that we talked about nothing in the press and the media was not correct, until the president commented on it with certain journalists during the last week where he also talked about the situation of the club, finances, etc. ”

“The next day, a media outlet said Koeman would sign a new contract if he met three conditions. I do not think this has anything to do with the truth.”

One of these reports stated that Riqui Puig and Samuel Umtiti should be given more minutes on the field, but Koeman insists that he is the one who makes decisions about the lineup.

“I am the one who decided who can play for the team”, Koeman emphasized.
