Koulibaly denies Barcelona interest, starts renewal talks with Napoli

Kalidou Koulibaly’s agent has reportedly denied Barcelona’s interest in signing the Napoli star, while Napoli has begun talks to extend his contract with their defender.

The Senegalese has been closely linked with leaving Napoli in recent years, but has always stayed at the club.

His contract with Napoli expires in 2023, but they have already begun talks to extend his stay at the club.

According to Cai Venerato of Rai Sport, Napoli has offered the 30-year-old a new contract of 5 million euros per year plus bonuses until 2026.

Manchester United and Barcelona are the latest clubs linked with a move for the Senegal captain, but extending his contract would make him stay at the club over the summer. According to Venerato, Koulibaly’s agent has denied Barcelona’s interest in his client.

Koulibaly joined Napoli from Genk in a €7.7 million deal in 2014. He has played 302 games.

Venerato has also reported that Manchester United are interested in Koulibaly’s Napoli team-mate Victor Osimhen, valued at €100 million by Aurelio De Laurentiis.
