The 4-0 victory in the Champions League against the Swedes of Malmo had serious consequences for Chelsea that in the success against the Nordics lost its two main strikers due to injury.
Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner were really unlucky in this duel after the two strikers who started the match as starters were replaced within the first fraction of the game.
Lukaku was injured when he won the penalty that brought Chelsea’s second goal after the execution of Jorginho being replaced immediately, while the German, Werner left the field shortly before the break between the two parts.
The extent of the injury of both players has not been determined yet however according to Tuchel’s statements for Lukaku there is nothing serious and he will be back at the disposal of the team after a few days so he can only miss the next 2 games.
Meanwhile, Werner has suffered an injury to the knee muscle and will also need a few days off.
