The Donnarumma era at Milan is over after 6 seasons, after the Italian goalkeeper decided to transfer to Paris Saint Germain, while the gate of the red and blacks will henceforth be defended by the Frenchman Mike Maignan.
The latter has given an interview to the Italian media, where he has shown how the negotiations for the transfer to Milan started and the emotions of the first days of work under Pioli’s orders, while he has guaranteed that he will make Donnarumma be forgotten.
Substitution of Donnarumma – Milan has always done a very good job with the goalkeepers, but of course Donnarumma has also done a good job. Now my story begins and I am ready to do my best.
Negotiations with Milan – It was a tremendous pleasure when I got the call from Maldini and although I was focused on doing my best with Lille, we moved the negotiations forward. We also waited for the progress of Donnarumma’s situation, as at the right moment we also signed the contract. I was also contacted from Rome, but I chose to play for Milan.
The first days of work and Serie A – I was very well received and I immediately felt a very nice atmosphere. Serie A is very demanding and I can improve even more, but the work of the goalkeeper has remained more or less the same. Of course skills in the game of foot are required, but the main task remains to wait at the gate.
Difference between Galtier and Pioli – It is difficult to make comparisons between them, as there are two coaches who prepare the team very intensively and have clear ideas for the game. A very demanding season awaits us, where we will aim to do our best and we must face it with maximum intensity and concentration.
Dida as a goalkeeping coach – he has been a great goalkeeper, who has also made an extraordinary career, so it is a pleasure to train with him. I’m sure it will help me improve even more.
