Marcelo has announced to Real Madrid that he will leave the club at the end of this season.
The 33-year-old defender has no plans to sign a new contract with Madrid and will leave the Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent once his contract expires in June 2022.
Marcelo’s goal is to return to his homeland, Brazil.
It is believed that Fluminese is the club where he will continue his career in all likelihood.
Marcelo joined Real Madrid from Fluminese in 2007 and has since won everything that can be won in football with the Spanish giants.
But he has lost his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s first team in the race to Frenchman Ferland Mendy and believes it is time to leave.
