Luka Modric and Real Madrid have reached a final agreement for the Croatian to continue at the club for another season.

The standard of his performances throughout the season has once again been the main reason for the former Golden Ball winner to extend his stay in Madrid.

The desire of the Real Madrid executives was clear and it was only a matter of time. Both sides wanted to continue the deal and a single conversation was enough for Modric to complete what will be his eleventh season at the club.

As with its latest renewal, the new deal will be for one season, with no salary increases or reductions.

The midfielder has not closed the door to play for more seasons beyond next season, as he admitted at the MARCA Leyenda awards ceremony two weeks ago.

The idea that the leaders of Real Madrid have in mind is to find a place for the Croatian within the team, but as long as he continues to show this level, his place will be on the field.
