Mourinho wants Dybala at Roma

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Roma coach José Mourinho wants to sign Paulo Dybala and even informed the Argentine of his desire in January.

La Joya will leave Juventus at the end of his contract in June and has been linked with a number of clubs across Europe. Inter appear to be in “pole position” to secure his services, but Mourinho is determined to sign the 28-year-old in the summer.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports that a relative of Dybala believes that a move to Roma would be the ‘best option’ for the striker, who is considering a transfer to the Stadio Olimpico.

Dybala has held talks with Inter and several European clubs, including Arsenal, Newcastle United, Barcelona, ??Manchester United, Tottenham and Sevilla, but Roma are also among the options.

Mourinho is a big fan of La Joya and even informed him of his desire to work together after the last meeting between Juventus and Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in January.

According to the report, Mourinho told Dybala: “You are a great player and I would like to coach a player like you.”

Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun was in Rome this week and was due to meet with Thiago Pinto, but the meeting was postponed after Giallorossi lost to Fiorentina on Monday night. The loss means that Rome has not yet secured a European country.

Giallorossi want to have clear ideas for the future, especially in financial terms. Qualifying for a European competition would give the club enough resources to recruit a player like La Joya.

Dybala is tempted to join Roma and the last two European games against Bodo / Glimt and Leicester City played in an overcrowded Olimpico impressed La Joya, making him consider a move to the capital over the summer.
