It is no secret that Barcelona will have to reduce the number of players this summer to raise funds for the financial crisis that has gripped them.
The Catalans have officially sold the player Jean-Clair Todibo to the French club, Nice. They used the option to buy the player for 8.5 million euros and seven other extras.
Thus, Todibo, who arrived last year for one million euros, becomes the first footballer to leave Barcelona this summer, while many others are expected to have the same fate.
Todibo spent last season on loan at Nice and apparently the French defender has persuaded the club’s management to buy his card entirely.
Barcelona has huge debts, but still managed to secure the services of Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia, Emerson Royal and Memphis Depay, but now the urgency to raise funds is needed.
The club must release around 200 million euros in salaries to keep Messi at the club. Thus, Barcelona will seek to release players with high salaries and those who are not in the plans of Ronaldo Koeman.
