Perez: The European Super League has not failed

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez stressed that the European Super League has not failed and believes that this would help resolve the situation of football that, as he says, is dying.

The Super League project was announced earlier this year with 12 founding clubs. Subsequent fan protests prompted nine clubs to leave the Super League within 48 hours, with Barcelona, ??Juventus and Real Madrid the only clubs not to leave.

And Los Blancos president Florentino Perez continues to try to bring it back to life, saying UEFA can do nothing to prevent it.

“UEFA can do nothing against the people and clubs involved.” Perez said.

He later indicated that he had not spoken to UEFA President Alexander Cefer.

“I did not talk to him anymore. But, it is not possible for all of us to lose money and Cefer to win. There are people who have privileges and want to keep them while football is dying,” said Perez.

Perez clarified the exclusivity of this league and said that this targeted the clubs with the most fans.

“We have said that they should be the teams with the most fans. We do not exclude anyone, but it is clear that not everyone can enter. Roma vs Sampdoria have less interest than Manchester vs PSG. Nothing has failed. We have worked for two years, 12 teams with the format that solves the football situation that is losing interest, that is dying “- he concluded.
