Gerard Pique has already set a date for his return to the green after suffering another injury in his last match with Barcelona.
The experienced center-back had a nightmare of injuries last season, and so it was a real concern to see him fall during Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao last weekend.
It was later confirmed that Pique had suffered a muscle injury, avoiding another knee injury after losing 29 games last season.
And ahead of Barcelona’s match against Getafe at the Camp Nou this weekend, a game that Pique will miss, the defender has confirmed the timeline for his return.
“The next day after the injury there was a little fear. I will not be able to play this weekend, but I will be ready after the break,” Pique told Sport.
This will be seen as a big boost for Barca in the middle of a mixed season start, taking four points from the first two games.
Although, despite a poor showing against Bilbao, Pique is pleased with the way he and his team-mates have started the season.
“I am pleased with the way we started the season.” the defender concluded.
