Paris Saint-Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino felt anger and frustration after Rennes interrupted his side’s successive league victories with a shock 2-0 win at Roazhon Park on Sunday.
The locals scored two quick goals at the end of the first half and at the beginning of the second, causing Lionel Messi the first defeat since arriving in the French capital.
Pochettino’s side, who beat Manchester City in the Champions League last midweek, had no shots on goal, despite attacking Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
This was PSG’s first loss in the league since April and made Pochettino feel angry and disappointed.
Asked if he was angry with PSG’s shocking loss, Pochettino said: “Yes, a little. Nobody likes to lose.”
Without wanting to underestimate what Rennes did, we are angry and disappointed that we did not use our opportunities and that we conceded these goals.
The Argentine coach removed Neymar from the game and after the match admitted that he did it for tactical reasons.
Asked if Neymar had physical problems, Pochettino said: “No, it was not for that.”
