Sergio Ramos has achieved the right physical condition and good form at the right time for Paris Saint-Germain. The French defender has left his physical troubles behind and even scored the first goal for the new club in the victory against Reims at the weekend.

Ramos has shown that he is ready to be an important player for PSG, just on the eve of facing Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Now, however, he must convince coach Mauricio Pochettino to choose him over Marquinho or Presnel Kimpembe.

Marquinho’s call-up to the Brazil national team could do him good, as he will play against Nice on 31 January. Then PSG will have two more matches before facing Real Madrid, against Lille and Rennes.

The Pochettino center-back duo have been very solid so far this season, having played 17 Ligue 1 matches in which both have been available.

So far, Ramos has not managed to threaten to break this partnership, but things are starting to change now. He is now struggling to get a place in the first team and is in very good physical condition.
