Mauricio Pochettino is still ready to lead Manchester United and would leave Paris Saint-Germain in the middle of the season for the Red Devils.
United sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday morning following a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Watford on Saturday.
Pochettino has been rumored as a possible United candidate in the future even before the dismissal of the Norwegian and now it is said that he is the main desire of the red devils.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Pochettino is ready to leave PSG and join United now instead of waiting until the summer.
Pochettino, according to British media sources, feels uncomfortable at PSG and that directing the French giants was not his primary desire.
He had wanted to stay in England even after Tottenham sacked him in November 2019, either taking over at United or even Arsenal.
United have confirmed that Solskjaer assistant coach Michael Carrick will be in charge of the team temporarily until the club appoints a permanent coach.
In July Solskjaer had signed a new contract until 2024, but was sacked after missing five of his last seven Premier League games.
Solskjaer left United in eighth place in the Premier League with 17 points from 13 games, 12 points away from leader Chelsea.
