Rashford: I feel ashamed of the loss against Liverpool, so I kept quiet

Marcus Rashford has said he is ashamed of Manchester United’s 5-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday, explaining that the embarrassment was the reason he had been silent on social media in recent days.

The English striker admitted that the result was unfair to United fans and vowed to repay them this during the season.

It was Manchester United’s deepest home defeat to Liverpool and their first five-goal home defeat since February 1955.

On Wednesday night, Rashford made a public request for the loss of Manchester United after several days of reflection.

“I can not lie that you have not heard from me here because, as a United fan, I did not know what to say after Sunday. I was ashamed. Our fans are everything and you do not deserve it. We are working hard to fix this. We have to succeed,” Rashford wrote.

This was his first post on social media since last Thursday.
