Sassuolo convincingly beat Milan

Sassuolo convincingly defeated Milan 3: 1 on Sunday, allowing the reigning champions and rivals, Inter, to come one point closer to the top of Serie A, after the second defeat in a row.

Gianluca Scamacca with a great goal, Simon Kjaer with an own goal and Domenico Berardi with another goal helped Sassuolo beat Milan with an overturn at the San Siro, as Alessio Romagnoli had given the locals the lead early.

This was the second consecutive defeat for Stefano Pioli’s team, after the one against Fiorentina last week, and the third game in a row without a win in the league.

As a result of successive failures in the last three weeks, Milan remains with 32 points in second place, as much as the leader Napoli, which tonight meets Lazio.

The current champion Inter has made the best use of the conceding points from the red and blacks, as it now has 31 points in third place, so it has approached them in only one point.

Sassuolo, who had three games without a win in a row in the league, now rises to 12th place with 18 points.

Before these two consecutive defeats, Milan was the undefeated team in Serie A and the leader with a 7-point lead over rival Inter.

Pioli’s team will face Genoa on a midweek trip, in a bid to get back on track in the title race.
