Timo Werner refused to join Inter, who had expressed interest in him during the talks for the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.
Germany international Werner turned down the possibility of joining Inter this summer, as his wish was to stay at Chelsea.
Werner spent a season at Stamford Bridge, scoring 12 goals in 55 appearances for the Blues.
But this season, the 25-year-old will have far fewer opportunities to play for Thomas Tuchel’s squad, following the arrival of Romelu Lukaku.
According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, Wener was offered the opportunity to leave Chelsea for Inter, but he decided to stay at Stamford Bridge where he has a contract until 2025.
Inter are on the verge of buying Joaquin Correa from Lazio and have already secured Edin Dzeko.
Inter and Correa have reached a personal agreement some time ago and on Tuesday Lazio accepted Inter’s offer worth around 30 million euros for the Argentine.
