Zinedine Zidane has stated that Marcelo’s non-invitation has to do with some concerns, not with the media allusion that there were problems between them.

The left-back was not invited for the match with Granada that Real won 4-1.

The relationship between Zizu and Marcelo was reported to be strained, as the Brazilian was only the second choice this edition – but the French coach says he stayed home because he has some concerns.

“Marcelo had some concerns and we did not want to risk him,” said Zidane after the victory against Grananda.
