Mbappe: “I want to have a career like Ronaldo, I still can’t compare to him”

Kylian Mbappe wants to write his name in football history books.

His idol has always been Cristiano Ronaldo and he hopes to have a career no matter how little like the 36-year-old Portuguese.

Mbappe has grown up enjoying the magic and goals of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The French star has faced the Portuguese legend several times, for whom he has only admiration, an assessment that confirms it in the statement given to “SportBild”.

“I was a child full of dreams, I wanted to have a career like Cristiano Ronaldo. When he goes down to the field, he manages to make happy everyone who sees him playing. Cris has been doing this for 15 years,” Mbappe said.

“I think all football fans love Ronaldo. Am I as good as him? No, Cristiano has gone down in the history of this game, while I have only been playing at a high level for five years, so I still can’t compare to him.”

“It simply came to our notice then. He has done so much for football and it is not the time to make comparisons. There are few players like Ronaldo, I learned a lot just by watching him play.”

“Do I want to leave my mark like him? Of course, this is the motive for playing football. I want to spread joy to the fans all over the world. I want to do such a thing by winning trophies.”

Mbappe, just 22 years old, already counts 163 career goals for clubs as a professional, in 243 appearances. The number of records increases even more if we add the 17 he has made with France in 44 appearances.

He wants to break records as Cristinao Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have broken and there are rumors that he will do so with the white jersey, with the Real Madrid jersey that has been the target of the striker for a long time now.
