Kylian Mbappe has returned to Paris Saint-Germain after an extended break after Euro 2020, while now joining the team in pre-season preparations.
The Frenchman is excited to be back at his club before the new season, as shown by a photo he posted smiling at the club’s coaching champion, but his plan is for next season to be the last in the French capital.
His contract is until next summer, and although he is not seeking to force a departure this season, he is planning to honor his contract before leaving when it expires.
Meanwhile, he is aiming to enjoy an unforgettable season, at a club where he feels comfortable and a club he seems grateful for what they have given him since signing in the summer of 2017.
However, he knows he will face a lot of pressure from his club over the next year to renew his contract, and time will tell if he keeps his desire to leave or in fact signs a new agreement.
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi stated at the end of last season that Mbappe would not only stay at the club for the 2021/22 season, but he would also sign a new contract.
Meanwhile, PSG have made a number of signings this summer, seeking to persuade the French star to remain at the club, and Paul Pogba could be the first to join.
They have aimed to establish Mbappe as a key part of the club’s image, with the 22-year-old playing a central role in unveiling new jerseys for next season.
