Paris Saint-Germain has announced that it has signed a long-term contract with Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
Wijnaldum will join PSG for free once his contract with Liverpool expires at the end of this month.
The Parisian giants beat Barcelona in the race for the Dutchman, although for months it was rumored that he had reached an agreement with the Catalan club.
The 30-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year contract with PSG, which will keep him at the Parc des Princes until the summer of 2024.
He was very close to joining Barcelona, but PSG intervened by offering him a salary almost three times higher than the Catalan giant offered and persuaded him to change his mind.
In Paris, Wijnaldum will be paid around 10 million euros a year.
Wijnaldum spent five years at Liverpool and decides not to extend his contract with the Premier League club, leaving Anfield as European and English champions.
