Leandro Paredes reveals that he was too close to join Juventus and would line up to become Andrea Pirlo’s successor, but stressed that he made a mistake when he refused.
The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is no stranger to Serie A, having already played for Empoli and Roman.
He could have joined another Serie A team even earlier, as he told the Argentine newspaper Ole.
“When Juventus came in to buy me in 2011, the sporting director wanted me to play as an organizing midfielder. I told him he was crazy. In the end, I stayed in Boca. At the time I thought I would never play that kind of role in midfield, but that was a mistake,” said Paredes.
Paredes became part of Paris Saint-Germain in 2019 and is an important player of the French club.
